Gaia - Koh Phangan
I sit in a café here in Koh Phangan feeling like I need to give my ears a little rest from production and editing videos.
Aside from my music, I’ve been spending a good portion of my time dedicated to Electronic Music Council (EMC) work. Without giving away too much we are working on some very exciting Web3 projects in collaboration with Staxe and Incented - two platforms with which our missions have appeared to align.
I’ve been producing music consistently since starting my travels and right now in this very moment I’m starting to feel like I’m getting more comfortable finessing my sounds, in particular my drums, percussion and bass. I’ve found an audio effect chain that seems to work for me.
What I haven’t figured out yet is how to properly finesse the lead synths, pads or other chords that are featured in the track.
The above mentioned chain involves grouping the channels and applying EQ, Compression, maybe some saturation or a warm tube and then using the Drum Buss to adjust transients and crunch to get the final punch that I’m looking for to come from the sounds.
If you’ve read this far and can relate to what I’m talking about or feel like you have some tips you can share, please reach out! I’d love to chat :)
